China Series: How to shop online & opt for Cash On Delivery

Greetings~!

It has been quite some time since my last update on this China Series, a series where you get to know everything about China.

If there's one thing about online shopping in China that I absolutely hate, it's paying online. I've been here for 2 years already but I have not activated my bank accounts to do online transactions. I've been surviving on Cash On Delivery(COD).

I'm very sure most of you know what COD means. It's basically paying at the moment the goods are delivered to you. The words to look out for are "货到付款" As long as you see these characters, it definitely means COD.

Personally, I opted for COD on both jd.com & amazon.com.cn
Never tried this for other sites but the result should be the same.
It's easy, secure & best of all, it's hassle-free.

Stay tune for more updates on this blog or email me for topics that you want.

Haul: Wishtrend (June)

Greetings~!

I received my parcel on the 29th of July but let's go through the whole process together shall we?

Process:

Ordered & Paid: 24/6
Shipped: 6/7

What I like:

Love the secured wrapping! (SO MANY LAYERS OF BUBBLE WRAPS!)
Free samples ( though I have to say, Wishtrend has been reducing the amount of samples)
Tracking number was emailed

What I didn't like:

Shipping took too long ( the whole process was so much longer than expected especially when shipping isn't even free)
They took too long to process the order ( ordered on 24/6 but they only shipped it on 6/7, that's 2 weeks!)

Will I repurchase:

Highly unlikely to purchase from Malaysia but when i go back to China, i will since shipping is faster
Will only buy products on promotions/ really special deals

Haul: Wishtrend TV Deal (At Home Acne Scar Treatment)

Greetings~!

I'm finally back home which can only mean more blog posts! :)

After watching the wishtrend tv video about how to get rid of acne scars, I immediately purchased the deal. You can watch that video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tySk4Yf7VE8

Personally, I watch all videos by wishtrend tv but was particularly attracted to this deal since I have acne scars and that has always been my major skin concern. In case you guys don't know about wishtrend tv, do check them out. They have all sorts of videos from skincare, makeup, explore and food. They keep on adding more genres as time goes on.

Best segment has got to be the Wish, Try, Love. You guys have to keep your eyes out for these wishtrend tv deals because the deals are just so so so awesome. You wouldn't want to purchase those products at normal price. These deals don't come by often and only lasts for a few days.

Have you guys read my review on the OST Vitamin C Serum? This deal is actually featured on that post. Read all about it here if you haven't.

It's currently sold out but if you wanted to see how the deal looks like and what each product is worth, click here.

What I got:

[COSRX] Centella Blemish Cream  (review can be found here)

[I'M FROM] Vitmain Tree Watergel (review can be found here)

Other freebies:

Shipping & Ordering Process:

Ordered: 27/3
Shipped out: 31/3
Received: 11/4

How I used these:

For morning routine:
Apieu's Soft Bubble Cleansing Foam --> Klair's toner --> Nivea's moisturising creme soft --> Everyday Coconut's Face Lotion

For night routine:
Watson's Cleansing oil --> The Saem's Healing Tea Garden Tea Tree cleansing foam --> Klair's Toner --> Vitamin C Serum --> Vitamin Tree Gel --> Blemish Cream

For individual product reviews, keep checking my blog as i will be posting them soon. I will review the watergel, the blemish cream and the toner. If you would like me to review any other products found in my routine, feel free to email me and ask.

UPDATE: Links for reviews have been updated.

Will I repurchase?

If this deal is on again, definitely! If I have to purchase all these at the usual price, no.

Haul: Amazon China (February)

Greetings~!

Story of how I started shopping there:

I'm sure it's not a surprise that I love mangas. Ok, maybe not so much anymore compared to last time. But there's this one manga/manhwa/manhua which took so so so so long to be translated and updated. I heard they even dropped it? So, I really love the story and searched all over the net for the translation of the novel. I read that it was initially a novel which then got adapted into a manga. I just love the story so much that I started reading the translation of the novel. Got so totally hooked. And if you know me, I don't read any novels or whatnot online. I prefer the real book. So, for me to actually read something online, that means I really really love the story. I have to thank the translators for doing such a great job but I'm impatient and really want to know what happens next. So, I decided to buy the chinese version even though my chinese is seriously not up to par to actually read a novel. But i thought by doing so, I'll not only read it, I get to improve my chinese as well. So, why not? And if you know, I do not own an Alipay so Taobao is always out of the question considering most of the things there needed Alipay. I wanted Cash on Delivery. Then, my sis told me about Amazon. I was like, huh really? So, I browsed Amazon China. BEST DECISION EVER! I found the novel and they had Cash On Delivery option. :D

I immediately bought the novel. Now, I'm reading it at a very very very slow pace. I didn't know so many words. But glad that my chinese vocabulary has improve.

Enough bout how I discovered it.

Process:

Ordered: 11/2
Paid: 12/2   ( paid upon arrival)
Received: 12/2

So, I ordered around 8pm, and received my parcel at around 2pm the following day. You can choose either a weekday or weekend. I'll do a post on how to order from Amazon China in another post. Stay tune for that! :)

What I ordered:

孤芳不自赏(帝后征途携手生死的大爱讴歌)
风弄; 平装
由 亚马逊进行销售
¥ 31.20
订单总价:¥ 31.20
配送费:¥ 5.00
订单小计:¥ 36.20

Pictures:

The parcel came like this, a really thin plastic.

Once taken out from the plastic, you get the book! :D

Back part of the book!

What I like:

The whole process was relatively easy, nothing complicated despite my inability in browsing chinese sites
They send you emails regarding the status of the whole process
You can track the parcel right away
Delivery is so freaking FAST!
Cash on Delivery! ( I wish all sites in China offer this)

Disappointments:

I do wish they at least tell us what time we'll get the parcel. at least say morning or afternoon.

Will I shop there again?

Most definitely! Actually, I placed another order a day after I received this. So, stay tune for that post! :P   I've blogged about it. You can check out my post on my second haul here.

Back part of the tin

Just wanted to show you a picture of the product from another view other than top & bottom

It's not screw type, its just a tin & a metal lid

Scent:

I'm gonna be honest, I've never smelt raspberries before. But this smells like berries.

Texture:

It is a lip butter. If you were worried that it doesn't glide easily, well, worry not. It glides really really easy. It looks like a regular balm but it is in fact buttery and easy to obtain. Just be careful not to scoop out too much which was what I did the first time.

Size reference:

Truthfully, when I read blog posts about this product online, pictures can be so deceiving. It's not as big as it looks. For reference, I took a picture of this together with a regular sized lip balm. Can you see how small it actually is?

My Experience:

Well, in the texture section, I mentioned I scooped out too much right? Well, yea, that's what happened. I assumed it was balm like since it looked balm like. But little did I know that it was buttery, really buttery. Silly me. :P It glides really well on my lips. Really love the smell of it. But I didn't really like how it left a white film like cast on my lips. So, I use this only at night. I use my other lip balm in the mornings which I will blog about soon. Lips felt smooth the day after.

Pros:

Smells heavenly (if you love fruity smell)
Affordable
Large quantity which can last really long

Cons:

Unhygienic (but I don't mind & all lip butters are like this actually)
Leaves white like film on lips
Not available in Malaysia ( but you guys can get it in iHerb)

Conclusion:

It works well as a lip butter & leaves your lips feeling smooth & supple the very next day if you apply this at night before you sleep

Will I repurchase?:

Yes, definitely! I would love to try out the other scents as well.

Note: Once again, I would love to recommend iHerb to all of you who can't get this product locally. If you are a first time shopper at iHerb, do use the code KDB598 for USD10 off your first purchase. I can't stress enough that this code can only be used once & only during your first purchase, so use it well.

Review: Cococare 100% Vitamin E Oil

Greetings~!

Sorry for the lack of posts even though I did say I would blog more. This time I'm going to review this awesome vitamin E oil which I don't think anyone raved or talked about.

Product Info:

Brand: Cococare
Product: vitamin E oil
size: 30ml
price: $6.05
where to buy: iHerb

Pictures/Product Packaging:

Very practical packaging

Back part with additional info such as directions and brief introduction

\
Screw type cover

Scent:

No fragrance whatsoever, plain old vitamin e oil scent which I find really good since they didn't add all those additional & unnecessary fragrances.

Texture:

Typical vitamin e oil texture. Doesn't blend in so I would not recommend you to use it during daytime. Sticky & oily at the same time, not sure if I'm describing it right. It's oil of thick consistency.

Not sure if you get what I described so here's a lil picture to show you:

My Experience:

Definitely healed scars, I meant, lighten. :)  Used this on my acne scars & acnes as well. I didn't like the oily feeling though. So, I switched & used it on scars on my body instead. I also applied this on my lips at night. I really like the feeling. It's as if putting lip gloss on. Woke up with no chapped lips the day after. This is like a very good lip moisturiser.

Additional: My sis used this on her scars on her legs, and she's been raving this product.

Pros:

Affordable
Big size which lasts very long
Really does lighten scars

Cons:

Could only get this brand online (Malaysia doesn't have this brand)
Oily feeling when used

Conclusion:

I think it works well on scars which are not on the face, and it does an awesome job for cracked lips. So, yea, it does what it claims.

Will I repurchase?:

Yes, I would.

Note: Also, for all of you who are new to iHerb, do remember to use the code KDB598 for USD10 off your first purchase. Remember, codes can only be used once & only during your first purchase. So, use it well! :D

Was so excited my parcel finally came that I couldn't wait till morning to take the pictures under proper lighting. Sorry! :P

The box that I've been waiting for:

I just love opening parcels, I mean, who doesn't?

Sneak peak: XP

First item: The medicated lip ointment from Blistex

Lip medex from Blistex:

Once again, another product from Blistex:

The raved lip butter from Nivea:

Just another flavour:

The reason I ordered from iHerb;

The other reason :

I just needed to stock up on moisturisers:

Just what I need to get through this cold & dry winter:

Did I ever mention how affordable & great Queen Helene's products are?

As you can see, I ordered lots of lip products & moisturisers. I have super dry skin, acne prone too. And well, for my lips, they crack like crazy! (I'm just justifying why I splurge. XP )

What I like:

  • Price of all things on iherb.
  • Everything arrived safely with no leakage. (there were a few dents here & there)
  • The whole process was informed through email
  • They have all these American drugstore brands which you can't get if you're not from America

Disappointments:

  • The need to pay tax. (For your info, this is my 2nd time ordering from China. I didn't need to pay tax for my 1st purchase. i guess it had something to do with the method of shipping. Both times, I used different shipping methods.)
  • Tax can only be paid using Alipay ( I don't have an Alipay account, which made it so difficult)
  • No coupon codes or special discounts for ongoing customers.

Will I repurchase?

After the tax? I'll have to think about it.
But there's no question that I will definitely still order & have the products ship to Malaysia.

Well, once again, if you guys are interested to order from iHerb, do use the code KDB598 for USD10 off your first purchase. And I can't stress enough that this code should be used wisely since codes can only be used once & only during your first purchase. Any questions, feel free to email me or just leave a comment down below.

Hishop.my Haul ( February 2014)

Greetings~!

I kind of change the format of my haul post just for this post to summarise the whole thing.

Order process
Ordered & paid: 10/2/14
Shipped out: 15/2/14
Received:  17/2/14

What I ordered:
Cerro Qreen Cosmetic Make-Up Brush Set - Black (7 pcs)HQR-10010201RM29.521RM29.52
Hahaway Mibb Oil PaperHHA-10010101RM10.001RM10.00
Deoproce Cover Stick Foundation Concealer #21 Natural BeigeHDE-10420101RM14.951RM14.95
Antipodes Organic Rejoice Light Facial Day Cream (Sample)HAT-101601SARM0.001RM0.00
Charmzone Albatross Powder Sun 4ml (Sample)HCH-101201SARM0.001RM0.00
What I like:

  • More than like, I actually love the fact that they have the point system. Because of the point system, I save ALOT! Check out the total before & after using points.
Before: RM54.47
After: RM35.93
Points used: 1854
And did you know that the points are really easy to earn?

  • As compared to last year, they certainly have introduce more brands. You can find so so so many brands on their site.
  • A very detailed invoice included
  • Products were bubble wrapped, only the concealer wasn't.
  • they included a RM20 voucher.
  • Everything was in a box. i did mention how I LOVE online shops which delivers in boxes right?

Disappointments

  • Based on the service, I actually prefer last year's. Paid on the 29th & they actually shipped it out the very next day. This year however, paid on the 10th but they still haven't ship it out when they could have on the 11,12,13 & 14. Quite disappointed in this aspect.
  • As for the free samples, last year, you can actually choose 3 samples out of so many choices. This year however, you can only choose 2 out of 6-9 choices.
  • Concealer wasn't bubble wrapped. That's not a sample. It should be bubble wrapped.

Would I repurchase from this site?
Based on my order this time, I might not actually want to shop at Hishop anymore. I mean, there are more online shops out there which have the same brands or more that actually offer better service in terms of delivery. What I absolutely love about an online shop is its delivery speed & service. If those aspects do not meet a certain requirement, that just puts me off right away.

I might purchase from here only if I have more points? Right now I only have 35 points left which is really worth nothing.

Naruko Haul ( February)

Greetings~!

I've always wanted to buy Naruko but never actually did. That is till a few days ago. My toner ran out so I thought hey, why not try this brand?

There were so many series/range in that brand but I knew exactly which one to go for. I went for the tea tree line right away.

The tricky part was not knowing which products to get. I mean, they have so many products in one series.

So wanna know what I got?

Read on!

Order Process:
Ordered & paid: 11/2/14
Order processed & shipped: 12/2/14
Received: 13/2/14

What I got:

[Tea Tree] Oil Control Package(5 Items)

[NRK] Brightening Moisture Package
  - [Package]: All-in-One High Pote..

Sub-Total:RM244
Free Shipping:RM0
Total:RM244
Pictures:

I'm sure this part of the post is what everyone loves. Pictures!

Let's start off with how the box looks like:

Once you remove the tape, you will find newspapers:

Beneath the newspapers, behold!:

products which were not in boxes were bubble wrapped as you can see above.

The tea tree line:

I got the set of 5 products.

I got these 2 which are both moisturisers. The yellow one is for daytime & the blue one is for night time.

This is the free gift for spending more than RM199:

This is from the other series/range which is for hydrating & whitening at the same time if I'm not mistaken.

What I like:
  • Their service is so good! They process & ship the things out 1 day after payment! :D
  • Delivery is really fast! One day after being shipped out
  • Free delivery for orders over RM100
  • Tracking number was given via email!
  • Products were bubble wrapped. (some)
  • A very detailed invoice was given along with the parcel
  • Parcel in the shape of a box. I really love it when online shops deliver in boxes rather than just stuffing the things in that plastic form.

What I didn't like:
  •  the lack of samples. Apparently, I was only given the GWP which was stated on the website. I really thought they would at least included some samples or something after spending more than RM200.
  • payment method in which we have to email to inform we have made payment. I find that rather tedious actually.
